About Me

Emily Chapman Dip.Couns Reg MBACP
I’m a qualified counsellor and I provide a confidential, warm space for you to talk freely and openly. I offer both long and short term therapy and I work integratively; which means I draw on various theories to tailor my approach to best suit you, as I believe we are all individuals, with unique needs.
I have experience working with adults from various backgrounds, cultures and walks of life.

Person-Centred Counselling
This means that we will build a therapeutic relationship, so we are able to work collaboratively to help you look at any issues you wish to face.

Pyschodynamic Counselling
This theory looks back at past experiences to see how they may be influencing current feelings or behaviours. We are all unconsciously affected by past experiences.

Transactional Analysis
This theory helps us to understand how we interact with others. It is based on the idea we operate from three states - Parent, Adult and Child. Understanding these states, helps us improve communication and resolve conflicts.
